From Incheon International Airport (ICN) near Seoul to Gyeongju

ICN Option 1: Direct KTX Train from ICN to Singyeongju station (신경주)

 

This option will be the most comfortable, if your arrival time matches with the train schedule. There are only 4 direct trains a day to Singyeongju station from ICN airport.

• Duration: 3 hours 10 minutes from Incheon airport to Singyeongju station
• Price: 55,200 won. (There is a 30% discount for the KTX from or to Incheon airport, if you use Asiana airline flight within 2 days of your KTX travel; simply show your boarding pass or eticket.) (Credit cards accepted)

ICN Option 2: Airport Railroad + KTX Train via Seoul station

This is the most frequent route. At the airport railroad station, you can buy one combined ticket of airport railroad (AREX) to Seoul station and a KTX train ticket from Seoul station to Singyeongju station.

• Duration: 45 minutes from Incheon airport to Seoul station and 2 hours 10 minutes from Seoul station to Singyeongju station.

ICN Option 3: Limousine Bus

There are 6 limousine buses a day from the airport to Gyeongju bus terminal(≠Gyeongju express bus terminal). The airport limousine bus is cheaper than the train, has more comfortable seat, but takes longer. However, Gyeongju bus terminal is closer to the hotel and one can actually take a taxi without worrying too much about its price.

The bus ticket is available at the ticket office near EXIT 4 or 9 indoors or outside of the airport building. Then go to the bus stop 10C and wait for the bus. The bus continues to Pohang after Gyeongju and so don’t forget to get off the bus.

From Gimhae International Airport (PUS) near Busan to Gyeongju

PUS Option: Bus

You chose the most convenient airport to reach Gyeongju. Gimhae airport is a small airport. Please purchase the Limousine Bus tickets to Gyeongju at the Bus Ticketing Office located at the ground floor in Gimhae Int’l Airport near GATE 3 Exit. You can board the bus at the bus stop #1. Tickets cannot be purchased from the bus driver. The bus arrives at Gyeongju express bus terminal (≠Gyeongju bus terminal).

• Duration: 1 hour 10 minutes
• Price: 9,000 won

From Gimpo International Airport (PUS) near Seoul to Gyeongju

The Airport Railroad station is located near the central part of Gimpo airport. The tickets can be purchased from the information center or ticket machines. For one-time card, 500 won deposit is required in addition to the ticket price and can be refunded at the refund machine in the arrival station.

Take the airport railroad to Seoul station (서울역), 4 stops away from Gimpo airport on airport express line (AREX).

• Price: 1,350 KRW one-way.

At Seoul station, buy a KTX train ticket to Singyeongju station.

• Duration: 2 hours and 10 minutes
• Price: 43,800 KRW
• At least one per hour. Last train at 22:00.

option 1: bus#700 from singyeongju station to the hotel

The highly recommded option. Very cheap. This bus usually waits for each KTX arrival. It might be a good idea to have cash.

option 2: hotel shuttle bus at 8pm

We have arranged the hotel shuttle bus at 8pm at Singyeongju station. We remark that Singyeongju station is very remote and so if you arrive too early, then you better take a bus #700.

option 3: Taxi

It is bit expensive to travel from Singyeongju Station to the hotel. It takes about 40 minutes and costs more than 20,000 won.

option 1: local bus

Take bus #10 or #700 and get off at Gyoyukmunhwahoegwan 교육문화회관 (The-K Gyeongju Hotel 더케이경주호텔), after the Hilton hotel.

OPTION 2: taxi

Taxi will take 20 minutes and costs around 12,000 KRW.

 

General Tip

• Credit cards are widely accepted. But for a local bus it is advised to have cash.
• US Dollars are NOT commonly accepted; please exchange at the airport or banks. The cheapest rate is available at the Seoul station (around the entrance to the airport railroad). 1$~1030 KRW (Korean won)
• Electricity: 220V, European plug.
• Be prepared for the hot and humid weather in August.
• Taxi is generally very cheap in Korea.
  However, when crossing a border between counties, it will be expensive. Especially Singyeongju station is out of Gyeongju and so the taxi from Singyeongju to the hotel is expensive.
